Into July

The 4th of July weekend went by without many eventful moments.  Fr. Larry was gone to his 30th class reunion in Gwinn so we had a visiting priest, Fr. Lawrence Gauthier (a senior priest of the diocese). On Saturday night we went to the Pilgrim River Steak House and had a good time recalling the "old days". He was at Loretto, Sault  and  has many fond memories of the IBVMs there.

Sunday we had two Masses ...one at St. Anne's and then at St. Al's.  Fr. Gauthier baptized a baby girl, Isabelle Joyce Cangemi, daughter of Christopher Hutton who came into the Church a couple of years ago and his girl friend, Angela, after the St. Al's Mass. I did some "Sunday stuff" and then went to Wall-mart where I was a failure.  I forgot the contact lens solution that I went to get, and could not find the Woolite detergent. When I went back into today to get food for brunch I ran out of time ... but lens solution is a must in the next couple of days. Not much else happened on Sunday as I did not get back home until after 4 p.m.  I did try to watch some of the Harry Potter series to bring me into this century.

Brandon arrived in Chassell shortly before noon, and the poor young man could not find out how to get into the house. I caught him off the patio door as I was going into the garage to get the rest of the food from my car.  Anyway a good brunch gave him the welcome he deserved.

Now we will see what the coming week will bring.  The summer is really going quickly!!!

July 4th

I think I am joining the 21st Century.  We have a sunny and cool day today and I have little on my agenda but some reading. I have to get somethings ready for the weekend but it should be a calm day ...
